Cozy Coastal Kitchen

Pool Brothers recently remodeled the kitchen in this Doublegate home located on the golf course in Albany, Georgia. The kitchen layout was reconfigured and minor structural changes were made to transform the kitchen into a more modern open, functional space. We replaced all of the cabinetry and updated the wood flooring throughout the home.

Pool Brothers recently remodeled the kitchen in this home located on the Doublegate golf course in Albany, Georgia.

Renovation Details

The room's layout was reconfigured to accommodate structural changes that transformed this kitchen into a more modern and functional space.

• We removed a wall with window-like openings that was separating the kitchen and the family’s living space.

• All existing countertops, cabinets, and trim were removed.

• We relocated the refrigerator and removed the double ovens, which were replaced with a modern gas range.

• A large kitchen island with storage and seating was installed and now serves as the focal point for this beautiful new coastal kitchen.

• Cabinetry and countertops were replaced with more modern and functional storage and workspace options.

• The walls were painted in Sherwin Williams with a satin finish.

• A new tile backsplash was installed above the new gas range.

• New wood flooring was installed in several rooms throughout the home.

About The Cabinets

The custom wood cabinets were designed and installed by Pool Brothers Cabinets + Flooring + Lighting.

Cabinet Organizers & Accessories

• Appliance garage cabinets were installed to keep small appliances within easy reach without cluttering countertops.

• A double trash can pullout cabinet was installed inside the kitchen island.

• A cabinet tray organizer was installed in the lower cabinets for cookie sheets, trays, and baking pans.

• A lazy-susan was installed in the perimeter corner cabinet with a double-folding door.

• Pull-out spice and utensil rack shelves were installed in lower cabinets next to the gas range.

• Open shelving displays the homeowner’s meaningful belongings.

About The Kitchen Lighting & Fixtures

• Two identical wall sconce lighting fixtures were installed on either side of the new vent hood to illuminate the beautiful backsplash and to provide greater visibility for cooking and food prep activities.

• Energy-efficient recessed ceiling lights (also commonly referred to as can lights) were installed throughout the new kitchen space.

About The Wood Flooring

We removed tile from the kitchen and carpet the home’s entryway, study, and great room. We replaced the old flooring with s light-stained wood floor to complement the home's new coastal look and feel.
